Detling C.E. Primary School is a small, friendly village primary school with a family atmosphere. Tnere are currently 47 pupils on roll organised in three classes with a modern library. The school boasts some of the most up-to-date equipment and facilities including computers to the ratio of 1:5 pupils and interactive white boards in each classroom.

There is a large field for sport and extra curricular activities.

We provide the whole range of National Curriculum subjects plus R.E. and French.

Children have had the opportunity in the last year to take part in many sporting activities including 5 a-side football tournament, rounders and cricket matches, tag rugby and swimming lessons at Mote Park. The school runs a Sports Club on a weekly basis during term time.

We believe that children should help those less fortunate than ourselves. The children have worked towards many charity fund-raising events this year including Barnardos, Children in Need, Demelza House and Operation Christmas Child The generosity of our children and their families never ceases to amaze us.

The school has a thriving DSA and they raise a substantial amount of money during the year to purchase 'extras' for the children. This year they have provided money for a play area at the front of the school, blinds for the computer suite and two colour laser printers amongst other things.

Mr Adrian McNeillis was appointed as Head teacher from the start of the Summer Term 2005 and two weeks later the school had an Ofsted Inspection

In 2000/2001 the school worked hard to earn the "School Achievement Award", followed by the Investors in People accreditation in November 2003.

We have close links with the Detling Pre-School which shares our site and a number of the children will be joining us in Reception this September. We still have a few vacancies and if you would like to come and look around the school and meet us please telephone for an appointment.
