Temporary Road Closure - A249 Sittingbourne Road, Stockbury - 3rd July 2025

Due to works planned to be undertaken by Kent County Council, it will be necessary to close part of A249 Sittingbourne Road, Stockbury, from 3rd July 2025 with estimated completion by 26th July 2025.
A249 Sittingbourne Road, Stockbury, will be closed from A249 Stockbury Roundabout to outside Gorse Tor Farm, between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any non-motorway through traffic is via A249 Maidstone Road, A249 Stockbury Roundabout, A249 Maidstone Road, A249 Key Street Slip Road Northbound, A2 Key Street Roundabout, A2 Keycol Hill, A2 Boyces Hill, A2 High Street, A2 London Road, A2 Hartlip Hill, A2 London Road, A2 Moor Street, A2 High Street, A2 London Road, A2 Bowater Roundabout, A2 Watling Street, A2 Rainham Road, A2 Chatham Hill, A2 Luton Arches Roundabout, A2 New Road, A2 New Road Avenue, A2 New Road, A2 City Way Roundabout, A229 City Way, A229 Horsted Roundabout, A229 Maidstone Road, A229 Tiger Moth Roundabout, A229 Maidstone Road, A229 Blue Bell Hill, A229 Chatham Road, A229 Cobtree Roundabout, A229 Chatham Road, A229 The Running Horse Roundabout, Sandling Lane, Penenden Heath Road, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Bearsted Road, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Detling Interchange, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Detling Hill.
The alternative route for any motorway through traffic is via A249 Maidstone Road Slip Road to M2 London-bound, M2 Jct 3 Slip Road to A229 Taddington Roundabout, A229 Taddington Roundabout, A229 Bluebell Hill Slip Link Bridge, A229 Lord Lees Roundabout, A229 Bluebell Hill Slip Road, A229 Blue Bell Hill, A229 Chatham Road, A229 Cobtree Roundabout, A229 Cobtree Roundabout to M20 Coastbound, M20 Jct 7 Slip Road to Detling Interchange, A249 Detling Interchange, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Detling Hill.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce to allow resurfacing works to be carried out, works are undertaken by Kent County Council.
