Due to works planned to be undertaken by Kent County Council, it will be necessary to close part of A249 Detling Hill & A249 Sittingbourne Road, Stockbury, from 8th November 2024 with estimated completion by 15th November 2024.

A249 Detling Hill & A249 Sittingbourne Road, Stockbury, will be closed in the southbound direction from Stockbury Roundabout to Pilgrims Lodge, between the hours of 20:00 and 04:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Non-Motorway through traffic is via A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Sittingbourne Road Slip to A2, A2 Keycol Hill, A2 Boyces Hill, A2 High Street, A2 London Road, A2 Hartlip Hill, A2 London Road, A2 Moor Street, A2 High Street, A2 London Road, A2 Bowater Roundabout, A2 Watling Road, A2 Rainham Road, A2 Chatham Hill, A2 New Road, Gibraltor Hill, A230 Maidstone Road, A230 Horsted Road, A229 Horsted Roundabout, A229 Maidstone Road, A229 Blue Bell Hill, A229 Chatham Road, A229 The Running Horse Roundabout, Sandling Lane, Penenden Heath Road, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Bearsted Road, A249 Newham Court Roundabout, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Detling Interchange, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Detling Hill.

The alternative route for any motorway through traffic is via A249 Stockbury Roundabout, A249 Slip road to M2, M2 Jct 5 to Jct 3, A229 Taddington Roundabout, A229 Bluebell Hill Slip Link Bridge, A229 Lord Lees Roundabout, A229 Bluebell Hill Slip Southbound, A229 Blue Bell Hill, A229 Chatham Road, M20 Jct 6 Slip Road to Jct 7, A249 Detling Interchange, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Detling Hill.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce to allow drainage works to be carried out, works are undertaken by Kent County Council.
