This survey produced by Bring Back Euro Trains BBET has been specifically designed to measure exactly what Eurostar is currently ignoring, and what potential rival operators have told us they have little or no data on: the suppressed and latent demand for international rail services to and from Kent's international stations.

By making this previously invisible market visible and crystal clear, we are building the definitive evidence base and the firm foundations of a commercial case for both of Kent's international stations.

This survey was developed by several experts to ensure the methodology and resulting data are as robust as possible. The approach follows the widely recognised 'smoke test' model used by major transport operators to assess realistic demand before launching a new service. This method is frequently used to support commercial investment decisions and funding proposals.

The survey does far more than simply count passenger numbers. It captures detailed information about desired origins and destinations, travel patterns and the specific characteristics of demand, providing the quality and depth of evidence needed to underpin a compelling commercial case.

The soft launch has already recorded more than 2,000 potential journeys in just a matter of days. While BBET are working with a wide range of stakeholders to increase participation, they need the additional strategic reach and influence that local authorities and regional partners can provide.

Given your proven support for the return of international rail services to Kent, we believe this survey will be an invaluable tool. Rather than relying on operators or government to make the case for us, the unique dataset already being generated will enable us to present clear, credible and compelling evidence of demand, helping to build an unassailable case for the restoration of international services in Kent.
