Due to works planned to be undertaken by Kent County Council, it will be necessary to close part of Hockers Lane, Detling, from 19th October 2026 with estimated completion by 20th October 2026.

Hockers Lane, Detling, will be closed from the junction with A249 Bearsted Road to the junction with Church Lane. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative routes for any through traffic are via:

Diversion 1 - Hockers Lane, Church Lane, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Newnham Court Roundabout M20 Junction 7, A249 Newnham Court Roundabout Entry Southbound To A249 M20 Interchange Roundabout Exit Southbound, A249 Newnham Court Roundabout, Bearsted Road, Hockers Lane.

Diversion 2 - Hockers Lane, Bearsted Road, A249 Newnham Court Roundabout, Newnham Court Roundabout To M20 Junction 7 Roundabout, A249 Newnham Court Roundabout M20 Junction 7, A249 Sittingbourne Road, Church Lane, Hockers Lane.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce to allow warning sign installation and road marking works to be carried out, works are undertaken by Kent County Council.
